Nikah

The beloved Messenger of Allah said: “There is nothing like marriage, for two who love one another.” [Ibn Ma’jah]

Nikah is the religious ceremony required by Sharia to unite a Muslim man and woman in holy matrimony. During the Nikah, two male witnesses will make sure that both the bride and groom are giving their consent to the marriage of their own free will. Nothing is entered into without the express approval of both parties. Mahr / Dowry which is an obligatory gift of money or something of value like gold from the groom will be agreed. This is compulsory but can be deferred but at the instruction and wish of the bride. This is all explained and covered in depth by our Imams. We have qualified Imams who are Aalim / Scholars and can provide guidance and officiate your Nikah in accordance with the Sunnah. Signed certificates are also provided.

Janaza & Taaziyat

Taaziyat means to console, comfort and give solace to someone who is suffering grief. This could be consoling the bereaved with kind words or actions or even just being present and there for them so as to remove or lessen their grief. The aim of Taaziyat is to help strengthen them and give them hope at a time when they are feeling down. The time of losing a close family member or friend / colleague is a difficult one. This is a time where we need and require care, support, and love. We perform Janaza at the Masjid and have facilities for Taaziyat to accomodate both men and women. This is convenient as both can be facilitated at one location where we have a designated car park. We understand having people visit us at home can be very difficult, inconvenient, and stressful. We facilitate this which goes well in the environment of the Masjid.

The beloved Messenger of Allah said: “A Muslim who consoles his brother will be clothed with garments of honour by Allāh on the Day of Qiyāmah. [Al-Bayhaqī]

The beloved Messenger of Allah said: “Whoever consoles a bereaved mother will be dressed with a (special) garment in Paradise. [At-Tirmidhī]

Funeral Care

Losing someone in the family is a sad and difficult time for anyone. We are not always ourselves in this situation and things can get overwhelming. We have a Muslim Funeral Care Service / Committee which is open to everyone regardless of background or heritage. This is to help facilitate the procedures and process of organising the bath, shrouding, and burial of the deceased loved one. This is not to mention the cost that goes into this. The purpose of the Funeral Care Cover is to cover this. The membership covers the member along with spouse and any children up to the age of 16. The form, which is available below, outlines the criteria etc. This can also be discussed with the committee who can explain further.

Sadaqah & Donations

We always have an ongoing need for donations which keep the Masjid open and running. The Masjid is run on your generous donations which includes bills and other costs for upkeep. Islam is more than just worship and going to the Mosque of which much of it also covers the obligatory worship (Fardh). Islam is a way of life that supports humanity and the betterment of the community. Some of this is done through charitable giving (Sadaqah). This is not just about giving money which is spent on those in need, less fortunate around the world, and for the running of Mosques and Madrassahs, but there are other variations and methods of charity.

The best form of charity is that which is continuous wherein the benefits to the community are ongoing. This could be the likes of a well providing clean water, building or financially supporting a Mosque or Madrassah to help in the cultivation of young Muslims to support and contribute to their community, a hospital, orphanage, etc.

The beloved Messenger of The Allah said: “Whoever builds a mosque, desiring thereby The Almighty’s pleasure, The Almighty builds for him the like of it in paradise.” [Bukhari]
